The party has been unhappy with Carlucci since he first took office in 2011, because he joined a small clique of Democratic senators that aligned themselves in a power-sharing agreement with state Senate Republicans. The Democratic Party holds a majority of seats in the New York Senate but does not control the electoral body due to the alliance between the GOP and the five-member breakaway group called the Independent Democratic Conference.
Either they announce they agree to come back to the (Democrats) or they will face primaries this year from our unified Democratic Party.
The Executive Committee of the Rockland County Democratic Party believes that the party cannot, in good conscience, support Sen. Carlucci as long as he is allied with the Republicans and refuses to support Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins of Westchester to lead the SenateKind of mild for a guy that betrayed women, broke his promise to the Democratic Party, and put the Republicans in charge in Albany. But it's a start.
